A Happy Reunion at The Hair Project!

The first Belgian hair and beauty event post-pandemic was welcomed with warm hearts and desire to get back to business.

On October 9th -10th, more than 10,400 enthusiastic hairdressers attended a successful edition of The Hair Project at Kortrijk Xpo. In an atmosphere of positivity, 100 quality exhibitors welcomed visitors who were also able to enjoy technical workshops on the Mainstage, as well as a new show: The ‘Barber Battle’! The Hair Project was above all an opportunity for the entire hairdressing sector to experience a friendly reunion while combining business and pleasure in a dynamic setting.

The event follows 3 years without any show dedicated to hair & beauty in Belgium. Therefore, organisers and participants alike were very keen to once more meet up and reconnect with both partners and suppliers.
For its first edition post-pandemic, The Hair Project was more compact than on previous occasions, but the show was by no means lacking in high quality brands – both already known and new to the Belgian market.

On the Mainstage, the most acclaimed show and technical workshops included:
Kris Diargo, in collaboration with Marco Iafrate from Professional by Fama (Hairco), with “Thé Grid”.
– The exclusive launch of the new Bobhead (Joico) collection,
Ludovic Beckers, with a show whose theme was “To evolve you have to transform”.
Nicole Van der Linden & Barber Birdman by Redken 5th Avenue for L’Oréal Professionnel products.
Febelhair organized 2 superb educational presentations in duos: Geoganic (Thomas Laslo & LoredanaDanese), and Bess Uyttendaele & Valérie Marichal.
Redken had also planned a duo presentation with Gitte Gys and Martijn Vanzieleghem.
Another duet presentation (with Jelle Bogaert & Alison Soupart) was proposed by Matrix

The very first Barber Battle!
Men were also very clearly in the spotlight with the very first ‘Barber Battle’, organised in association with BaByLissPRO. 20 hairdressers participated in a fierce competition. The winners were Sebastian Liolios and Jessica Hollay.

The organisers are already planning the next edition, which will be held on March 10th – 11th, 2024 at Kortrijk Xpo.
