From October 2nd – 4th, the world of hair & beauty will gather at Taksim Istanbul, Turkey for the 5th edition of Beautyistanbul. Over the past few years, this event has grown at an unprecedented pace, becoming an unmissable opportunity for major international exporters and importers in our industry.
So much so, that the current location in Taksim has become too small for the number of booths required, so Beautyistanbul has already announced that next year the event will be held in a larger venue – TÜYAP Fair Center in Istanbul, from 8th -10th May 2025.
To give you a better insight, we asked Mr Mehmet Yavuz ER, Project Manager of Beautyistanbul, a few questions.
Last year we called you ‘the fastest growing internationally focused exhibition in our industry. It looks like the trend just keeps on going…
“Indeed, last year’s 4th edition hosted 845 exhibitors from 62 countries. This year’s 5th edition already has more than 1,100 confirmed exhibitors from 65 countries. So, we have achieved 30% growth and the trend continues at full pace. We also expect to see an increase in international trade visitor attendance if the direct feedback and confirmations we are receiving from global buyers is anything to go by. Hosting trade visitors from 169 countries at last year’s 4th edition, we are confident that the international coverage will be even greater this time”.
What is it that boosts BeautyIstanbul’s propensity for growth?
“Unlike regional exhibitions, BEAUTYISTANBUL serves as a platform to connect global buyers and sellers in a single place. Thanks to the international strength of Istanbul, with direct flights to 115 countries and easy connecting flights to all countries in the world, its geographical position makes it a natural centre of global trade.
We utilize this strength to our advantage in the cosmetics and beauty industry to widen the exhibition’s reach to include destinations as far apart as Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, and the Far East, hosting the most important importers, distributors and retailers to attend BEAUTYISTANBUL and conduct business with our exhibitors. Therefore, the exhibition has become an annual gathering to meet potential clients worldwide”.
What new features can visitors and exhibitors expect at the forthcoming 2024 edition from October 2nd – 4th?
“The 2024 edition will be held in 9 Halls with the addition of Hall 8 and Hall 9, hosting 250 more exhibitors than the last edition. Therefore, it will offer a greater variety of exhibiting manufacturers, brand, and suppliers from across our industry.
Additionally, there will be a further 20 country pavilions, including ones from Spain, India, UAE, Czechia, Iran, Palestine, Nigeria, Ghana, and Guatemala.
Exhibitors will also have the chance to meet trade visitors from around 170 countries in all sub-sectors of the beauty industry, potentially increasing their exports to new target regions and countries”.
Are you already fully booked?
“We closed individual sales for the 2024 edition in mid-July and the country pavilions have been finalized during August. As of today, we do not have any booths available and we are completely focused on visitor promotions and general preparation”.
Is there further room for growth at BeautyIstanbul?
“To satisfy extra demand and to create the means of growth, we are changing the venue to TÜYAP Fair Center for next year’s edition from MAY 8th-10th 2025. This will allow BEAUTYISTANBUL to grow further and compete with the largest shows worldwide in number of exhibitors and exhibition space.
Are you still actively cooperating with foreign associations and government offices?
Indeed, the 2024 edition will feature 20 national country pavilions, including returning countries such as Italy with 145 exhibitors, France, Poland, South Africa, Brazil, Korea, China, Pakistan, Indonesia, Ukraine, as well as the new countries I mentioned earlier.
We are also actively working with some trade visitor delegations, especially from Africa, to bring in more potential buyers”.
Who the people that are behind the success of BeautyIstanbul?
“IPEKYOLU International Exhibitions Ltd. was founded in 1999 by Mr. Mahmut Er and Mrs. Ayşe Er as a family business, starting as agents organizing Turkish pavilions abroad in many industries, including cosmetics and beauty.
Since 2005, we have been organizing our own exhibition in Istanbul and only operate and specialize in the beauty industry. Today, we are a dynamic team of 40 colleagues of more than 15 nationalities and 10 languages spoken. We actively communicate directly with potential exhibitors and buyers in more than 200 events annually to promote our exhibition.
Part of the success is thanks to our focus being all on BEAUTYISTANBUL and not organizing any other event, therefore unlocking the maximum performance and efficiency for the exhibition’s success”.
