China’s Covid policy still hinders the possibility of holding regular exhibitions and it has hit the country’s hair & beauty fairs hard.
Unsurprising, but equally unexpected, is the news that has just arrived from China announcing the postponement of one of the major hair and beauty fairs of the country: China Beauty Expo (CBE) and China Beauty Supply in Shanghai.
Traditionally scheduled in May every year, the 27th edition of the event was already postponed to December 14th – 16th 2022. Since then, the organisers have been working hard to prepare for the Winter edition. On November 15th, the CBE organising committee was obliged to announce the postponement until May 12th – 14th 2023.
“In order to effectively maintain health and safety of our exhibitors and visitors, as well as to maintain the traditional high level of excellence in the exhibition, the organising committee has, after careful evaluation of the current epidemic condition, postponed the 27th China Beauty Expo & China Beauty Supply,” declared the organisers’ representative in a press statement. “The new dates will be May 12-14 2023 with the venue staying the same: Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC)”.
In order to help the industry overcome the current challenges and to create opportunities to meet, exchange information and facilitate business, the organising committee has announced the 2nd edition of China Beauty Virtual Expo. This will be held from December 12th – 16th 2022. It will be an online exhibition that will assist in taking advantage of the wave of current business opportunities and hopefully restoring market confidence.
All the exhibitors already booked for the postponed December edition are invited to participate for free in the Virtual Exhibition, therefore organisers expect an attendance of 3,000 enterprises and 10,000 brands.
