Held from 11th – 13th May 2022 in Almaty Kazakhstan, the 4th edition of the Central Asian Beauty Fair marked the relaunch of industry trade events in the area with a rich offering for international exhibitors and visitors.
147 exhibitors from 14 countries had the unforgettable experience combined with the opportunity to meet 6,600 professional visitors from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
This happened at Central Asia Beauty Expo – the biggest hair & beauty event in Central Asia – a renewed chance for producers from different areas of the world, as well as important distributors from Central Asia to gather under one roof and meet in person after a long absence
Among the most admired features of the was the ‘buyers program’ which hosted 80 distributors and wholesalers from Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. In addition, for the first time, the ‘Polish Pavilion’ showcased a wide representation of manufacturers from Poland.
Good participation came from other European countries such as Italy, France and Germany.
Exhibitors reported afterwards that they had been quite busy at their booths talking with potential new distributors.
Marta Rossi, Export Manager of Dimacosmetics, commented: “It is a small fair compared to the main ones in our industry, but we have been very busy all the time and met many interesting distributors from Kazakhstan and other neighbouring countries. We now hope that these contacts will bring some real business because this area of the world has a lot of potential. The main difficulty was communication as many of the local businessmen do not speak English – only their local language and Russian – but on the bright side we must say they seem pleased to deal directly with foreign companies from Europe, they are used to buying from Turkish or Russian middlemen so for them this is a good chance to get a better price.”
Sara Degortes, Export Manager of Myosotis, added: “You have to come prepared with somebody who can communicate in Russian. However, the opportunities offered are many and it opens to a new part of the world. Notwithstanding the recent difficulties, the country was very welcoming, nothing appeared out of order, and they really seem to focus on business and widening their horizons to foreign countries, especially Europeans.
We have had quite a few interesting meetings, all with local distributors, we have already started a business discussion with some of them, which is promising.”
Thanks to the effort of the organizers, active also during the lockdown period, Central Asia Beauty Expo has become one of the most important events in the beauty industry of Central Asia registering an annual growth in both the number of visitors and exhibitors. It promises even better performance for the next 5th edition, which has been scheduled for Next Year, still in Almaty from 24th – 26th May 2023
