The asian hub for cosmetic industry comes out stronger in difficult times.

The great colorful, acrobatic Dance of the Dragons, was probably the only thing that looked exactly the same as last year at the Opening Ceremony for the Cosmoprof Asia 2019

The atmosphere, the very air that people could breath had a different taste.

That is why David Bondi – Senior Vice President-Asia, Informa Markets and Director of Cosmoprof Asia Limited, as well as Mr Antonio Bruzzone, director of “Bologna Fiere”, introducing the event, could not avoid to mention the rough situation that has been haunting Hong Kong citizens in the last few months and that is jeopardising seriously the participation of the public to event like the Cosmoprof Asia in the former British Colony.

Actually, the presence of Exhibitors didn’t seem to suffer in terms of number and about the level of brands represented. And the notables on stage, with big names of the international Beauty Industry as well as diplomats and International Exhibition managers, would only confirm the great attention that this event has been getting in its 24 years of history.

But, due to the escalation of the violence in the street of the last few days, nobody could expect a large number of visitors this year.

Anyway, the impression is that, after a slow start in the morning of the first day, visitors attendance in the pavilions is gradually increasing. We’ll see at the end. Maybe this year’s numbers won’t beat records but, in this challenging situation, it would be a great sign to see consistent participation of visitors to a fair that means a lot to the beauty industry for all the Asia-Pacific Area.
