As the pandemic continues to prevail, alas we must advise of one further postponement, as Bologna Fiere announces new dates for Cosmoprof Bologna.
At the end of February 2020, when the outbreak of the pandemic in Italy took everyone by surprise, who would have believed that Cosmoprof Bologna would still be undergoing a postponement; at the time we all thought it would just be a matter of a few months. And yet here we are today, with the biggest international Beauty Trade fair of the world being pushed back once more.
The 53rd edition of Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna will take place in May 27th – 31st 2021. Cosmopack will be the first to open, from Thursday 27th – Sunday 30th, along with all the components of the production chain and Cosmo | Perfumery & Cosmetics, dedicated to retail perfumery and body care.
From Friday 28th – Monday 31st all the rest will open: Cosmo | Hair, Nail & Beauty Salon will host companies and operators of finished products, equipment, furnishings and services for the professional world of hair, nail and beauty / spa.
Initially scheduled for March 2021, the event was postponed following ongoing and widespread concerns from trade associations and professionals.
“Given the unpredictable and unstable situation pertaining to Covid19 and the subsequent restrictions in Italy and throughout the world, we feel a new schedule to be indispensable,” announced Gianpiero Calzolari, President of BolognaFiere. “Participating in Cosmoprof involves a considerable investment by both companies and operators alike and it is our duty to work to ensure an event reflects the prestige that has been associated with our brand for more than 50 years”.
“Given the current situation, May seem to us to be the best time to hold the event; we will, however, continue to monitor the progress of the epidemic to ensure exhibitors and professionals can operate in complete safely and with peace of mind,” added Enrico Zannini, General Manager of BolognaFiere Cosmoprof. The decision to postpone the event was taken in full agreement with Cosmetica Italia, the historical partner of Cosmoprof, as confirmed by President Renato Ancorotti.
The Numbers
The last edition of Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna in 2019 saw 3,033 exhibitors from 70 countries and more than 260,000 visitors from 154 countries attending. From Italy, the format was exported all over the world with the appointments of Cosmoprof Asia, Cosmoprof North America, Cosmoprof India and Cosmoprof CBE Asean, at the first edition in Thailand in 2021. Since the first moments of the outbreak of the pandemic, the events that have supported the global cosmetics industry have further increased the Cosmoprof community, which today has over 600,000 operators and more than 10,000 companies all over the world.
