Organised by the Foundation for Sustainable Development, the award recognises the commitment of Italian companies to natural and sustainable projects.
The award ceremony of the Sustainable Development Award was held in November in Rimini, Italy. The Davines Group, a B Corp company and a Benefit company specializing in professional cosmetics products, was awarded the 2022 Natural Capital Award for its commitment to regeneration with the EROC (European Regenerative Organic Centre) project.
Created by The Foundation for Sustainable Development and the Italian Exhibition Group, under the patronage of MITE and in collaboration with WWF and CREA – National Rural Network, the twelfth edition of The Natural Capital Award, continued its well-established tradition of recognising Italian companies that have implemented innovative projects with the aim of preserving the environment.
In fact, the protection and regeneration of natural systems have been identified as crucial factors in the implementation of new economic models, also capable of creating well-being for local communities.
EROC – European Regenerative Organic Centre – is the project that enabled the Davines Group to win the award. EROC was created in Parma in collaboration with the Rodale Institute from Pennsylvania. It is the first European centre for the research and dissemination of regenerative agriculture. The goal of Dario Fornara, director of EROC, and his scientific team, is to conduct cutting-edge studies into the potential of the regenerative approach in agriculture, as well as to demonstrate numerous benefits in various application sectors, not just in cosmetics.
