With a record 36,410 eager attendees over the course of three days devoted to hair, beauty and wellness, the Osaka leg of Beautyworld Japan ended on a high note.
The 19th edition of Western Japan’s largest beauty trade show delivered impressive results. Dedicated to serving the region’s beauty industry, the show attracted 36,410 visitors, including salon owners, suppliers, retailers and distributors – surpassing last year’s record by more than 7%.
Held from October 21st – 23rd 2024 at INTEX Osaka, the show allowed buyers to build business networks, explore in vogue products and services, and get inspired by cutting-edge tools and solutions, providing an important platform for a wide range of leading exhibitors.
Showcasing a wide range of trends in the beauty industry, the fair hosted 517 exhibitors from China, Hungary, Japan, Korea, Lithuania and Thailand (Japan: 456, Overseas: 61), with China and Korea unveiling country pavilions. Throughout the show, exhibitors displayed a broad range of new and established products, services and techniques in the beauty supply chain, in categories ranging from skin care, makeup, fragrance, hair care, and nails to equipment for salons, spas, and retail professionals.
Both exhibitors and attendees were pleased with the business outcomes they were able to attain, emphasizing the show is value in promoting industry connections and exhibiting creativity.
Exhibiting at the new zone “Tasty”, Ms Ikuko Muroi, President of DAIGENMISO Co., Ltd., said: “Our miso contains D-amino acid which is said to enhance the skin’s barrier and moisturising functions. It has a strong affinity with inner beauty, so we decided to exhibit in order to expand our sales channels to the beauty industry. We have received 30 leads from companies including aesthetic and relaxation salons, wholesalers and distributors. We are sure that we are on the verge of developing new business.”
The positive feedback was echoed by another exhibitor related to skin moisture control, through their 100% cotton towels. “Owners from aesthetic, hair and relaxation salons have visited our booth, but we have also seen increased demand from hotels. Not only did we gain new connections, but we were also able to promote future negotiations with already-established business associates”, commented Mr Soichiro Yagi, President of Yagimitsu Towel Corporation.
Beyond the exhibitor booths at the three-day fair, a total of 26 seminars were held for aestheticians, hairdressers, manicurists, acupuncturists, moxibustion therapists and salon operators to divulge the latest information, techniques and management skills in their respective professions.
The next edition of Beautyworld Japan Osaka will be held concurrently with the inaugural edition of Osaka Nail Forum from 20 to 22 October 2025 at INTEX Osaka.
