Over 255,000 attendees, 3,128 companies, and rising exports mark a landmark edition in Bologna.
The beauty world has spoken, and it’s louder, larger, and more luminous than ever. With over 255,000 attendees from 150 countries, and 3,128 exhibiting companies from 65 nations representing more than 10,000 brands, the 56th edition of Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna didn’t just return — it redefined what it means to lead in the global cosmetics industry.
As the glitter settled and halls quieted, one truth stood out: beauty is booming, and Cosmoprof is its beating heart.
A Record-Breaking Edition
From business matchmaking to cutting-edge innovation and meaningful institutional partnerships, Cosmoprof 2025 wasn’t just an exhibition — it was a mirror of a booming industry.
“We are extremely proud of the results of this edition,” declared Gianpiero Calzolari, President of BolognaFiere Cosmoprof. “We have concluded a record-breaking Cosmoprof, confirming once again that the exhibition is an essential tool for the growth of the sector.”
A 4.5% increase in visitors compared to 2024 and a particularly high percentage of international professionals underscored the event’s worldwide appeal. Strategic support from the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the ITA – Italian Trade Agency (ITA) helped attract 80 foreign delegations, ensuring quality participation from key global markets.
The Buyer Program, with enhanced networking and matchmaking tools, facilitated meaningful business connections, while an expanded hall layout allowed for the introduction of new product categories, driving a 5.8% increase in exhibition space.
Made in Italy as a Global Driver
Italy’s cosmetics sector stood tall at Cosmoprof — not just in presence, but in performance. “With a revenue of €16.5 billion, the cosmetic industry is one of the fastest-growing sectors within Made in Italy,” said Benedetto Lavino, President of Cosmetica Italia. In just one year, exports grew by 12%, helping the country achieve a trade surplus nearing €4.7 billion.
Italy now ranks as the second-largest cosmetics exporter in Europe and fourth worldwide, highlighting the industry’s strategic weight within the national economy. As traditional sectors like automotive slow, beauty is helping stabilize Italian exports — a trend underlined by the €8.4 billion in cosmetic exports that now represent over 40% of the industry’s total revenue.
The strong partnership between Cosmetica Italia and BolognaFiere Cosmoprof played a vital role in this success. Together, they showcased the excellence of Italian beauty companies through record-breaking participation, innovative product offerings, and proactive institutional dialogue.
Cosmetics: A Pillar of the Italian Economy
“With revenue reaching €16.5 billion, the cosmetic industry is among the fastest-growing sectors in the Italian manufacturing landscape,” stated Benedetto Lavino, President of Cosmetica Italia. Exports rose 12% in one year, while a trade surplus of €4.7 billion confirms cosmetics as a strategic asset.
Italian companies rank as the second-largest exporters in Europe and fourth globally. At Cosmoprof 2025, the industry showcased not just its commercial strength but its employment impact, with 400,000 professionals across the supply chain.
The show also brought political and institutional voices to the table, with Adolfo Urso, Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy, and Deputy Minister Valentino Valentini joining discussions on innovation, competitiveness, and internationalisation.
Spotlight on Innovation and Trends
Beyond business, Cosmoprof remained a showcase for consumer-driven innovation. Attendees explored new frontiers in sustainability, personalization, wellness, and tech-enhanced beauty — reflecting the shift toward more conscious, informed, and ethical consumer habits.
“Once again, Cosmoprof proves to be a hub for new trends and ideas,” said Enrico Zannini, General Manager of BolognaFiere Cosmoprof. “From AI to clean beauty, we provided global professionals with a glimpse into the future of the industry.”
Eyes on 2026

In a world of constant transformation, Cosmoprof remains the anchor — a dynamic platform where business, beauty, and bold ideas converge.
