The announcement of an Oasis Reunion Tour has taken the music world – and their not inconsiderable fan base – by storm. But what about fulfilling every mod’s dream and reviving the Oasis Men’s Hair Movement?

Jonathan Andrew, Fudge Professional Global Ambassador is the go-to hairdresser for celebs including Jamie Redknapp, Joel Dommett, and Romesh Ranganathan to name but a few guys he works with. Jonathan is intrigued by the buzz around the Oasis Reunion Tour, as well as the prospect of customers looking to grow, style and reclaim these iconic hairstyles.

“Without a doubt, every Mod haircut is going to come back with a bang,” say Jonathan. “I think it is a cool haircut and we’ve been seeing a nod to this look for a while with the mullet anyway. Guys are going to be far more open to adopting this revival look – with a modern twist, I expect. This trend will start to trickle its way down as people get more and more excited about the return of Oasis.

Getting Ahead of the Trend
“To get this look from us barbers, we’ll probably update it with slightly more texture, to get a little bit more movement. You will see people who had mullets previously, trying something different so they’re getting ahead of the trend but keeping it unique to them. We’ll be adapting the style to encourage guys to grow out the sides, but we will keep a lot of length through the sides and the front, whilst adding texture through the top and just making it a bit more of a shaggy, messy look rather than a very straight fringe that the brothers had originally.

“I expect to see lots of texture coming in with this new updated Oasis cut. I think this is a great time of year for this look because guys’ hair will be shorter, ready for colder weather, big coats, scarfs. It’s always great to have shorter hair during those months just because you can deal with the style and keep it in shape a lot longer.”

Jonathan’s Hero Products to Create the Mod Mop-Top
“To style this look, think about hair products that give texture and shape. I would always go for a salt spray like Fudge Professional Salt Spray, which is going to help add in that texture and give you a bit more grip and hold throughout the styling process. Another must use, is the Fudge Professional XXL Hair Thickener Cream. If your client is on the slightly finer side and looking to recreate the hair of the 90s, this is a great product as it contains polymers that help swell the hair when heated, giving you 100% more density, so you can really thicken up those haircuts and styles.”

There is still no news about it.
