HISTORY

Since its founding, GAMA was conceived to be an innovative game-changer that aimed to revolutionise the industry and market forever. It all started in 1969 when the creative wizardry of a number of beauty salons inspired Mario Gardini to seek a new way of interpreting hair care. The end-result was GAMA – which stands for Gardini, Mario – with none other than the birth of the first-ever mass-produced professional hair straightener.

The launch of Quick-Heat Technology in the late 90s made the impossible possible; the introduction of hair straighteners that heated up and were ready to use in less than a minute. Quick Heat Technology was followed by the introduction of Instant Heat Technology (IHT), patented and launched in the professional market in 2010. This innovative technology revolutionized the world of styling, thanks to a state-of-the-art heating element that reaches working temperature in seconds, with a constant and extremely homogeneous distribution of heat over the entire surface of the heating plates & tubes as long as the straightener is turned on. IHT technology makes GAMA Professional hair straighteners & curling irons the fastest in the world to reach working temperature and be capable of keeping the temperature constant.

GAMA’s next gamechanger would arrive with the introduction of the iQ Perfetto at the 2019 COSMOPROF Bologna trade fair: a smart professional hair dryer that packs an outstanding blowing power in an ultra compact, elegant and light design, that weighs as much as smartphone. Enhanced with the most innovative and sophisticated technologies, every single aspect of the IQ Dryer was engineered to create the ultimate experience.

In 2022 GAMA won the Cosmoprof Awards with the new iQ2 the professional hair dryer, the next gen evolution of the professional dryer as light as a smartphone. The new iQ2 reinforces GAMA as a continuous disruptor within the hair tool community and is set to be the new must-have in the professional market. With a look always turned to research and innovation, in 2022 GAMA inaugurates a new production center in Gossolengo (PC) dedicated to the realization of lightweight ultra-performant professional Italian motors through an increasingly sustainable model. The fully automated production process is aimed at achieving most advanced environmental standards in terms of energy use, using a completely decarbonized model. At the end of 2022 Gama opened the company’s first headquarter in the US in New York.
