This week we are celebrating the Hong Kong Edition of Cosmoprof Asia (Nov 12th–14th). It represents a significant moment on the road to recovery for the Mainland China market, as well as a test for the entire Asian-Pacific beauty industry.
With more than 2,800 companies representing every sector of the beauty industry, the 2024 edition is expected to set new records in terms of visitors and professional buyers.
The wave of enthusiasm that started in the Middle East is now sweeping across the Asian continent and continues to grow, despite uncertainties fuelled by global crises and new political outcomes in leading countries.
The optimism is also inspired by the economic progress of countries such as India, where the next big Cosmoprof event will take place from December 5th – 7th.
India’s beauty market is growing at a rapid pace and is expected to reach €26.9 billion by 2026 with a compound annual growth rate of 14.9% over the forecast period (2021-2026). Natural ingredients and inclusive products are the new trends that local and global brands are competing for.
India ranks fourth in the world in terms of cosmetics consumption, with the most purchased product categories being personal care and hair care that together concentrate almost half of the sector’s consumption. This year, the market is worth €24 billion and is developing rapidly: in the last five years, the growth of cosmetics consumption in India has doubled, with significant growth rates expected in the coming years.
Exciting developments have marked the recent European beauty events, which have published very satisfying reports from their recent shows in the likes of Paris, London and Madrid.
