For the second consecutive year, Pettenon Cosmetics S.P.A. Benefit Company renews its commitment alongside Fondazione Umberto Veronesi ETS. As a global leader in professional hair & skin care, the company also contributes to the development of cancer treatments by funding a research grant.
The research will focus on triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), one of the most aggressive and challenging types of breast cancer that responds poorly to current treatments.
The research grant for the current year was awarded to Veronica De Paolis, whose studies focus on the tumour macrophages, cells that impair the effectiveness of cancer treatments.
Her research aims to understand the mechanisms underlying drug resistance and immunosuppression, with the goal of developing new therapeutic solutions to combat TNBC. Pettenon Cosmetics’ contribution is intended to be a significant step in the battle against what is the most common neoplasm among women in Italy, with more than 55 thousand new diagnoses per year and an incidence that affects one in eight women during their lifetime.
Through the project “Io Vivo Sano in Azienda” (Healthy Living in the Company), Pettenon Cosmetics S.P.A. Benefit Company and Umberto Veronesi Foundation not only funds scientific research but also stands out for its constant focus on prevention and awareness, promoting initiatives on multiple fronts throughout the year.
Thanks to the “Io Vivo Sano in Azienda” project, Pettenon offers more than 600 employees informative webinars, free check-ups, dermatological and breast screenings. In addition, in collaboration with “La forza e il sorriso Onlus”, Pettenon supports the organization of make-up and skin care courses for women undergoing cancer treatment, emphasizing the importance of the psychological well-being of patients.
Pettenon Cosmetics CEO Luigi Ambrosini stated: “We are very proud to support these initiatives,” which go beyond a month-long awareness campaign and involve active and tangible commitments over time. Being involved in these issues is more than just a duty; it is a strong commitment that is essential to our company’s mission”.
