Yet another digital beauty trade fair approaches, but this time with a twist: Beautyworld Middle East will utilize technology to remotely celebrate its annual Awards Week, nominating the winners that that were unable to receive their prizes during 2020.
The winners of the 2020 edition of the Beautyworld Middle East Awards will be revealed virtually from 13 – 15 December, 2020 on a live streaming platform. Everyone is invited to join this celebration of the beauty industry.
The awards were conceptualized to celebrate companies, products and individuals for their excellence, outstanding performance, vision and achievements across the industry and region. The event is spread across three themed days of Marketing & Innovation, Exceptional Products, and Game Changers.
Within the awards program, the menu includes some opinion pieces specifically relating to the theme of the day, presented by industry experts from COTY, Henkel, Huda Beauty, L’Oréal, and Procter & Gamble.
Categories & Criteria
So as to better enjoy the nominations show, let’s have a closer look at the 8 categories and their ranges of interest:
Best Marketing Campaign – To reward an effective, innovative and engaging marketing campaign for any Retail / Salon / Spa or finished product in the Middle East region (Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, UAE and Yemen). The judges will be looking at the creativity, message consistency and planned strategy to select the finalists.
Innovation of the Year – To reward the most original and ground-breaking product in the fragrance and beauty categories. The entries demonstrate strong differentiation within their own category. The judges will be looking at the differentiation, concept and innovation to select the finalists.
Natural Product Award – To reward the best product in each category with any internationally recognized organic, sustainable, cruelty-free, halal or clean certification. The judges will be looking at the quality of the certification and differentiation to select the finalists.
Niche Product Award – To reward the most original product for fragrance and beauty with a niche positioning (i.e. a brand with a limited number of SKUs, destined to assisted sales, distributed through an extremely selective and high-quality distribution network). The judges will be looking at the concept, brand story and differentiation to select the finalists.
Breakout Star of the Year – To reward the best new launch for a fragrance and a beauty product available to purchase in the Middle East (in any of the following countries: Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, UAE and Yemen). The judges will be looking at the market penetration and number of doors, differentiation and concept to select the finalists.
Homegrown Talent – To reward the best brand conceived and launched in the Middle East (in any of the following countries: Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, UAE and Yemen). It celebrates the vision of regional beauty and fragrance entrepreneurs. The judges will be looking at the differentiation and storytelling to select the finalists.
Cult Classic Award – To reward the best product available for purchase for at least 10 years in the Middle East (in any of the following countries: Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, UAE and Yemen). The jury members will look at the market penetration and length of presence on the market to select the finalists.
Perfumer of the Year – To reward the perfumer who has contributed and demonstrated excellence by developing creative and innovative new ideas for the launch of a new fragrance in the Middle East (Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, UAE and Yemen).
